Preserving Memories:  Personal Archiving Workshop

Preserving Family memories – This program provides preservation options and organizational suggestions for treasured material memories, such as photographs, scrapbooks, notebooks, audio and personal video recordings.  Patrons are encouraged to bring in documents and photographs as they are guided through the process, which includes access to library scanner and converter hardware for a  Digitize It Yourself experience.

The Generators: an ad hoc hands-on workshop that focuses on Family Genealogy. 
This is a monthly discussion meeting centered about a topic of genealogical interest and a chance to connect with others to learn more about genealogy.

Sun 'n Fun Fly-In Collection

From its beginnings in 1974 as a fly-in for sport aviation enthusiasts, the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo has grown into a beloved and successful aviation event, promoting aerospace and STEM education within the community. This collection of photographs represents a sampling of the pilots, vendors and attendees that travel to Lakeland for the annual convention each spring.

Green Hat and White Gloves Lake Mirror Tour

You are cordially invited to delve into Lakeland’s history with Miss Serena Bailey (the first city librarian 1929-1959). Whilst strolling around the promenade of Lake Mirror you will be regaled with tales touting personable people, premier places and the astounding achievements of our fine city.

Legend, Legacy & Lore Series: Stories of Lakeland
Discover Lakeland's history through video, images, maps and text through Story Map Journals.  At the end of each journal is a chance to test your knowledge with a short trivia quiz.  Submit the form and you can take home a historic button or two.
