This Giving Tuesday follows one of the most challenging elections in our nation’s history, one that posed unique obstacles for college and university student participation.
At IDHE we work tirelessly to ensure that campus leaders, faculty, staff, and students, as well as higher education associations and civic organizations, have solid data to measure student civic participation, resources for action, and strategies for discussing politics in today’s hyper-polarized times. Our work is entirely supported by grants and donations. As you consider the many worthy organizations to support today, please consider a gift to IDHE.
Our National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE or “n-solve”) has grown beyond our founding aspirations, now representing well over 10 million students at nearly 1,200 U.S. campuses in all 50 states, accounting for more than half of all college and university students in the nation.
We also work with more than 100 national education associations and civic organizations promoting student voter engagement. We are a small team with large reach.
Thank you for your gift today. We are grateful for your support.
Sincerely,
Nancy Thomas, Director IDHE
The Institute for Democracy & Higher Education is dedicated to shifting institutional priorities, practices, and culture to advance student political learning, equity, and engagement in democracy. We fulfill our mission through research, resource development, and support for institutions interested in improving their campus political learning climate. The National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) - the Institute’s signature initiative - is both a service to campuses to learn their student voting rates and a research database for IDHE.
