Double your donation. Any gift you make to help Ela and other children will be doubled if you give today. Did you know helping others makes us feel proud?
Yes, I want to help Ela and double my gift
‘Dad, why am I different, what's wrong with me?

Dear supporter,

These were the words that devastated Will when Ela asked him this on the way home from school.

She was just seven years old and already children were being mean because she looked different.

Ela, 11 was born with a bilateral cleft lip and cleft of the soft palate. To date she has had 12 operations on her cleft, the first when was six-months old.

Although Ela has a loving family, including younger brother George and dog Fluffy, she’s still needed some extra emotional support.

That’s where Changing Faces comes in. We run the only free counselling and wellbeing service for children with a visible difference.

Please help Ela and other children this Christmas

Many of the kids we see have appearance-related mental health issues and may need more help to cope. With your donation, we can expand our advice and support services and networks for children with a visible difference.

It costs around £32 per session. Wouldn’t that be a great gift to make this Christmas?

Even better, if you give today via The Big Give, then your donation will be doubled. Meaning you can help twice as many children like Ela.

‘You should stand up for yourself and don’t let anyone bring you down no matter what. You are beautiful.’

These are Ela’s words of advice to anyone being bullied because of their visible difference. You can hear more from Ela and her family in this special video they’ve made to support our Christmas appeal.
Be inspired by Ela's story now
We hope you’ll enjoy watching it and feel inspired to support Ela.

By giving you’ll be doing something wonderful to help children with a visible difference.

As Ela explains,

“I would say that if you are a young person with a visible difference you should talk to Changing Faces because they are kind, they will listen to everything you say and you can trust them with anything…Please support the Christmas appeal.”

Yours, together in helping children with a visible difference,

Becky Hewitt
CEO

PS. There is only limited matched funding available, so don’t miss out on getting your donation doubled.

Please give £16, or whatever you can afford, to buy a support session for Ela and other children. Thank you.
