What an AMAZING WEEKEND!!

Many families came out on Friday and started the weekend having tea at the Bremer Bay Tavern.

Saturday morning there wasn’t any organised activities for the Nippers. We did have a number of the Nipper Parents have a go on the Surf Boats thanks to Pete and the girls crew for taking us out for a go. A lot of fun was had by all and hopefully we can have a few more sessions if there are any parent members that might like to have a go. Watch out for more information in the Rip in the new year…

Rainbow Coast Carnival – Bremer Bay Weekend

Bremer was AWESOME!!

What an amazing weekend in Bremer Bay for the Rainbow Coast Carnival, not even the rain on Friday night could dampen the campers spirits. The carnival ran smoothly with great conditions. Excellent efforts and participation from all Albany competitors and volunteers, we are proud of you all, you represent our club so well. Particularly the Nippers, who were very brave to challenge themselves and get out amongst some scary waves.

EOI for Message in Motion: Road Safety Commission Road Safety Campaign

The Message in Motion Road Safety Campaign promotes safe driver habits through key messaging displayed on a vehicle back window. ASLSC and members have an opportunity to be involved in the Message in Motion safety campaign. Which is planned to commence in January for 18 weeks. For involvement in the campaign the driver is paid $25 per vehicle and the surf club $25 per week at the end of the 18-week program. An excellent fund raiser for our club.

Christmas Pageant –
Change of Plan

This year’s Christmas Pageant is going to be a static event where the floats are going to be stationary and the public will walk around to look at them. As a club we have decided that we will not be involved in this year’s Christmas Pageant.

HOWEVER, we still would love to spread the Christmas Cheer and are going to make our Christmas fun day even BIGGER and BETTER.

Patrol Update

Patrols start this weekend, and the roster on the website is correct. There is a hard copy of each team posted up on the patrol noticeboard.

Hours: if you wish to compete you need a minimum of 16 PATROL HOURS, these run over a calendar year NOT a patrol season. If you go into the members portal you will see how many hours you have. This is your responsibility only, and once the 31^st of December rolls around nothing can be done.

Ski Paddling Clinic

Thursday 3 – Saturday 5 December

ASLSC with the generous support of Hazbeanz and contributing partner Avis, are excited to offer a unique coaching opportunity to club ski paddlers. State / National Coach, Olympic Coach (2016) & Olympic Finalist (2012) Jesse Phillips will be conducting a free clinic for members at Albany SLSC.

2020 New Year’s Eve Swim

End your year with a splash! Register your interest for the last swim of the year.

Thursday 31st December come down to Middleton Beach and register on the day at 6:45am, listen to the briefing at 7:15am and with the short course starting at 7:30am and the long course at 7:45am. Presentations will be held at 10am.

You can choose your distance: 400m, 1.25km, 2.5km or 5km.
