It's December...

“I heard a bird sing in the dark of December.
A magical thing. And sweet to remember.
We are nearer to Spring than we were in September.
I heard a bird sing in the dark of December.”

Oliver Herford
The festive season is with us;  traditionally it's a time full of laughter and social gatherings, food, presents and fun. But this can be a tricky time of year for lots of people; even more so this year wilth all the bubbles and restrictions to contend with.

Many people agree that building a routine, keeping active and busy, can help us keep positive and well.  With this in mind, we are here to help.  Many of our activities are continuing all over Christmas, including Yoga and Mindfulness, and we will be open for appointments if you need some support (see our Christmas opening times below).

And if you want, you can join me on Zoom on Christmas Morning for a cup of tea and a chat

USEFUL INFORMATION

Intentional Peer Support – What is it?

Intentional Peer Support (IPS) offers non-judgemental emotional support for people over 18 living or working in Sutton. For those experiencing mental distress it can be a real lifeline.

You may be waiting for help from traditional support services, seeking some extra emotional support on top of the services you are receiving, or looking for support following discharge from care.

Our Peer Support workers all have their own lived experience. This means they can empathise and support from a shared viewpoint and have had similar struggles and experiences.

If you would like more information,  please phone for a chat on 020 8770 0172 or email admin@smhf.org.uk
