Wow! We can hardly believe the year is coming to an end! 2020 has been very different for all of us! In spite of the challenges, the Lord remains so good! As we enter into the Christmas season and the close of the year, we are thankful for the good that we have seen this year, and we wanted to share a few highlights from our year with you!
In March (the Friday before the official shut down), we hosted our first ever Sporting Clay and Flurry Shoot fundraiser! This event was fun and exciting! We made lots of new friends as we welcomed more than 50 shooters! We are looking forward to our next Sporting Clay Shoot on Friday, March 19, 2021! Click here for more information or to register for our next Sporting Clay Shoot.

We were completely closed to the public during the spring months, but we used that time to strategize ways to safely return to in person services in mid-May. Normally, Hope Remains Ranch offers Horse Play (summer camp) each summer. For 2020, we changed it up from a week long experience to a morning field trip experience for ages 5-12. This allowed Hope Remains to keep our groups small and socially distanced while serving 155 children during the months of June and July!

We were thrilled to be able to serve families in the Mane Event program beginning in September! We missed our families during the shutdown, and were excited to welcome 25 children and their parents back to the ranch! In The Mane Event, children work toward goals they set with their parents to grow. This year, we implemented the Hope Remains Passport to help the children track their progress toward their goals as well as keep track of accomplishments, such as Scripture memorization.

Our annual benefit golf tournament was also held in September at Village Greens Golf Club. We enjoyed spending the day with 64 golfers, and everyone had a great time! The Lord blessed us with a break from the rain, and gave us very comfortable temperatures for a day of fun on the greens!

In October, our Men's Ministry began with 9 men who continue to meet together every Monday morning at 9AM. After a time of Bible study, the men give their time to do much needed work around the ranch! If you would like to join our Men's Ministry, please contact our Chaplain, Wayne Orr.

We were thankful to have the opportunity to partner with Children's Cancer Partners of the Carolinas twice this year! In August and October, Hope Remains Ranch and Children's Cancer Partners welcomed 20 families who have been impacted by childhood cancer, and gave them a chance to spend time together and enjoy activities at the ranch! We look forward to serving these families every year, and this year we were blessed to serve them TWICE!

We were saddened to cancel our annual fundraising banquet in October, but we began early in July to prayerfully considered how we might still host a COVID appropriate event. In November, volunteers and staff pulled together to host our first ever Rambling on the Ranch! It was a huge success! We welcomed 215 guests to the ranch; many of whom had never been on campus before! Rambling on the Ranch gave our guests a first hand experience of all the programs we offer at Hope Remains Ranch.

Our counseling team continued to serve clients all year. We transitioned to a virtual platform during the lockdown, but have been seeing clients face to face since May. We have seen a surge in children and adults looking for help to overcome anxiety and depression associated with COVID. This year, we have had the opportunity to minister to 106 individuals in our licensed counseling and Biblical counseling programs. In total, the Lord has allowed us to serve more than 650 people in all our programs combined.
We are excited to announce that preparation is underway for H.O.P.E. Certification training in the new year! The H.O.P.E. Certification will provide training to individuals interested in learning how to offer equine therapy from a Biblical perspective.
We have completed the application process to provide Continuing Education Units (CEU) with the H.O.P.E. Certification, and are awaiting approval. If you are interested in this opportunity, please call our office (864)249-3532.
Throughout the year, the Lord has been faithful! As we look into the new year, we are not sure what to expect, but we do know one thing... The Lord is good, and He will take care of His children! Hope Remains Ranch is so blessed to serve the Upstate with you! We are thankful for your prayers, love, and support!
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May you and your family experience the warmth of Christ's love and presence during this Christmas season, and into the New Year!

In Christ Alone!
