Morena all, 

Welcome to December and Christmas magic everywhere!
We're busy at the Club in December with lots of events on - which we love. And, we'd also love to see you all here to enjoy our twinkly Christmas fairy lights and really feel the festive cheer all around. 
Remember under our tree is a box ready to receive non-perishable food items - please donate if you can - the Women's Refuge would appreciate it immensely. 

Club Christmas Dinner Buffet on Sunday 20th December - menu to come shortly - bookings essential and limited to 100 people.

Please also note - the pool and surrounding areas will be closed until around 3:00pm on Wednesday 16th December. 

Quick note about membership and pool keys
1) If you're a new member then your membership cards will be posted out to you once we've received payment and processed them, unless you have let us know you'll pick them up from the bar when you're here next.

2) If you're an existing member and are still to renew your membership subscription, we'll print your card as soon as you've paid and will put it in the box at the bar. Note - if you haven't renewed yet and are about to, please be aware that you may receive a different membership number as we reallocate non-paid numbers to new members. 

3) If you've applied for a pool key it will be waiting at the bar for you once we've approved your application. 



This will be my last newsletter for a while - I'm taking an extended break. It's been a pleasure writing it for you all and especially receiving feedback when you send it through.
Kathleen will be doing the newsletter next week, then the newsletter will be taking a bit of a break too, but will be back towards the end of January.
If you have any questions from now on, please direct them to Kathleen instead of me.

Motorsports Car Sales Courtesy Van

Our van operates Thursday to Sunday from 3:00pm.
Just give us a call on 3478301 during opening hours, go through to the bar and book your pick up time.
To get home again, we make regular announcements throughout the night when the van is leaving shortly, so you just need to get yourself out into the foyer and hop on.

Note - we're pretty darn busy now with Christmas events, and generally more members coming to enjoy the Club - if you can give us more notice for pick up times that would be appreciated - and a little flexibility with pick up time would be good too - we will do our best to pick up up when you want but it depends on how many pick ups we have requested.
If you live in an area affected by roadworks (I know! It will get better though!) please take that into account too - thanks!

For new members who don't know about this - this is a free service but we would appreciate it if you could drop a donation in the box on the bar. Thank you!

Kids' Xmas Party - Sunday 6th December

Our annual Kids' Christmas Party is happening on  Sunday 6th of December from 11am. 
 

Pool News

She's looking awesome today members! Just look at the sun glinting off the mirror-like surface of the best pool in Rotorua!

According to my weather app we're looking at temps in the early 20s for the foreseeable future, and it's only going to get better. Yes it is. Perfect weather for lounging around poolside, a cheeky drink or two and a splash if you're feeling brave.

Remember if you'd like to rent a pool key the cost is $25 per year - application forms are available from the bar. And barbeques! It's definitely barbeque weather now (or soon will be) so bring all your barbeque goodness here to the Club, pay $5 at the bar and you can have the use of one of our gas barbeques. Awesome!

Please remember all drinks must be purchased from the bar (including non-alcoholic) and strictly no glassware around the pool please. If there were to be a breakage then we would have to drain and clean the entire pool for safety reasons, and as you can imagine that would take ages and ages.

Note - our pool and surrounding areas will be closed on Wednesday 16th December until around 3:00pm.
 

Fishing News

The Tarawera Trophy took place on  28th & 29th November.


The Tarawera Trophy was held last weekend , while a good number of trout were caught not many were kept and weighed due to size being generally quite small with only one fish over 2kg being caught.

Results were: Tarawera Trophy > Murray Stephens (2.02kg) 2nd Peter Keech (1.77kg) 3rd Steve Mason (1.75kg)

                       Munro Trophy (Junior) > Tyrese Canning (1.71kg)

Cue Sports News

Our Christmas Windup for 2020 is at the Club on Sunday 6th December. 
2:00pm prizegiving for Cue Sports Club Champs, 2:15pm drawn pairs 8 Ball Tournament. 
$5 entry - any everyone wins a prize!
Names must be in by 2:00pm.
Everyone is welcome, and we'll probably finish around 5:00pm.

Darts News

Our next Darts round is the Club Champs being held on Saturday the 12th December at 2pm. All welcome.
That will be the last one for the year - looking forward to the last catch up before Christmas.

Quiz News

 Our last Quiz for the year is our special Christmas Quiz on Monday December 14th.

Our restaurant will be doing a special Christmas themed buffet for the great price of $15 per person.
Please either let Delwyn know if you'll be joining us for dinner or book up at the bar - all welcome.
 And if you need a little persuading - just check out this delicious menu.....


I say again members, $15.00 per head. $15.00. You'd be crazy not to!

They're will also be spot prizes, and prizes for best dressed costume and best table setting.
And don't forget to bring along cans or non perishable items for the food bank - this year we will be donating  these to Women's Refuge.
