While we continue to hold all our meeting virtually, we kindly remind you to contribute to Tashi la’s virtual bowl.
Tashi is infinitely grateful for your kind support. Buddhist monastic tradition considers all contributions to be identical and anonymous (whatever the amount), to avoid comparisons and favoritism. Therefore, he cannot express his gratitude individually for your generosity.
We now have more options available to us:
PayPal: by sending your donation to GreatMiddleWay@gmail.com
Zelle: by sending your donation to Nicolas Carballeira using either (469) 219-0077 or GreatMiddleWay@gmail.com

Regular mail: by sending a check to Nicolas Carballeira, 9090 Skillman St, Ste 182-A #117, Dallas TX 75243

Welcoming the Unwelcome by Pema Chödrön
In her first new book of spiritual teachings in over seven years, Pema Chödrön offers fresh wisdom, heartfelt reflections, and the signature humor and insight that have made her a beloved guide during turbulent times. In an increasingly polarized world, Pema offers us tools to find common ground, even when we disagree, so we can build a stronger and broader sense of community. Sharing never-before-told personal stories from her remarkable life, simple and powerful everyday practices, and directly relatable advice, Pema leads the way in showing us how to become triumphant bodhisattvas—compassionate beings—in even the most difficult of circumstances.

Need more social in your sangha? We’re meeting up on Zoom from 7-9pm on the 2nd Friday of each month to connect, get to know each other, and share our lives on the Path. Here’s how it works:
- We will begin promptly at 7:00pm
- We will start with the Aspiration prayer, one or two other prayers, and 10-minute meditation
- We will do a quick check-in to see how everybody's month has gone and visit a bit
- Time permitting, feel free to bring a short reading, poem or music to share
- We will close with the Dedication and virtual hugs
This is a member-led group, so we will rotate responsibilities for leading prayers, and moderating the discussion.
Please join us December 11th at https://zoom.us/j/825940300

The Buddha's Bowl / El cuenco del Buda
|

Although we take Refuge in the Three Jewels, the practice of the Dharma is necessarily a personal undertaking. The Buddhas point the way, but it is we who must walk the path.
This booklet is an exploration of the Buddha's teachings regarding other sentient beings and veganism, the ethical commitment to minimize the suffering of human and non-human animals.
You can download a PDF in English or en español.

Nying Je Ling (Universal Compassion Buddhist Congregation) is a western branch of Great Middle Way Buddhism. It arose, as with all Buddhist communities, from the teachings, example, and blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni. These were then transmitted through a lineage of realized Buddhist Masters, including the Protector Maitreya, the Superior Nagarjuna, the Holy Brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu, the Omniscient Dolpopa, and the Noble Taranatha.
Nying Je Ling presents the Dharma in a form that is appropriate to the needs and conditions of the contemporary world. We encourage all to follow the perfect example of simplicity and purity of practice shown by the Jonang Lamas throughout history.May the sun that illumines the Mountain Dharma of Kunchen Dolpopa’s GreatMiddle Way, having risen in Tibet, now shine over the West. By the merit accrued through the pure thoughts, words, and deeds of the Jonangpas, may the teachings, example, and blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni and the Buddha from Dolpo remain and flourish for the greater good and happiness of all beings.
