Thank you, we did it!🎓🎉

When I became Breakthrough SJC's program director in 2014, the first thing I noticed (besides that BT students do a ton of cheers) was a strong dedication and commitment to one another. A deep sense of community. Six years later, as the executive director, I continue to see how this community comes together.

It happens when our college mentors are helping a senior on finalizing their college essays right before the deadline.
It happens when volunteers give an hour of their time every Tuesday for a whole semester to tutor our middle school students.
It happens when an advisory board member or our leadership team provides their thoughtful insights on the organization's direction.
It happens when a teaching fellow is working tirelessly for two months during the summer, learning to be a teacher, teaching, and doing it all while being part of a team.
It happens when a donor puts faith in us to put their contribution to good use and to make the most impact possible.

And, it happened on Giving Tuesday. Our community showed up.

We came together to provide our college students with the support they need on their journey to become college graduates.

Together, we contributed to transforming the education system, to make it a bit more equitable and fair. To close the gaps in educational opportunity. To change lives.
