Water is flowing wild and free under the Boones Ferry bridge! According to the Bureau of Environmental Services:
"The site is still under construction and closed to the public for the safety of the construction team as well as the community. SW Boones Ferry Road will be closed until spring 2021 for the completion of the bridge and culvert construction and final pavement restoration. Crews continue to build retaining walls for the bridge, coordinate relocation of utility lines, install stormwater lines, construct pedestrian pathways, and pour additional concrete."
At the November ACNA meeting, we welcomed Nancy Mattson to lead the land use group. Liz Marantz is facilitating the transition by staying involved. Nancy will provide an update on the BPS Shelter to Housing Continuum Project at the December 8 meeting. Join us - see below.
Transportation projects planned to be implemented in 2021:
2nd phase of SW Stephenson St improvements; additional sidewalk and crosswalks at Eagle Crest Dr and at SW Woodlee Heights Ave
SW Arnold St / SW Lancaster Rd intersection improvements; white safety poles to prevent vehicles from cutting tight corners and protect pedestrians, center divider bumps to guide turning traffic
Speed cushions on SW Arnold St, from SW 35th Ave to SW Boones Ferry Rd
SW 35th Ave sidewalk improvements at SW Ridge Dr and at SW Huber St and a crosswalk south of Jackson Middle School
Transition one traffic lane into a bike lane on SW 35th Ave, between SW Ridge Dr and SW Arnold St
There is no update on the proposed residential care facility on SW Clara ln at Boones Ferry Rd. ACNA will be notified when the application is considered complete by the City.
