Every day is Ocean Day, yet we ask for your
financial support just once each year.
At this year-end, with a dollar-for-dollar match
up to $20,000, your gift will have a huge impact.

Earlier this year we outlined three ways that the W2O is responding to a changing global landscape. First and foremost: to be useful; second: to be relevant; and third: to be innovative. We have used 2020 an an opportunity to craft this response by nurturing our existing programs in ways that support innovative and unconventional learning, and by exploring ventures with creative partners to expand our engagement and effect. We have discovered that a sensory approach to learning about the ocean has resonated with our followers this year; we have been connecting ocean lovers through sound and light, through the power of hearing and seeing, through compelling data visualizations, through the evocation of the spoken word, and through music and film. Yes, the W2O is a vast catalogue of resources, but we are so much more. Our resources offer a place for students, educators, policy makers and interested citizens to feel the ocean, experience the ocean, and know the ocean through media generated by creative people worldwide.

We have a dollar-for-dollar
matching gift opportunity:
every dollar raised up to $20,000 between now
and December 31st will be matched.

You can give in two ways:

1. Donate via Paypal

2. Give through our Facebook Fundraiser

Each of our initiatives this year has serious implications for our collective future and for the reputation, engagement, and financial development of the W2O into 2021 and beyond. We are committed to continuing to innovate, educate, connect, provoke, challenge convention, and invent specific actions and solutions with the substance and urgency requisite to the challenge. We aspire to offer resources that are a full sensory immersion, as noisy and volatile, as calm and transcendent as the sea itself, as a place for connection and knowledge through oceanic feeling.Ocean systems remain as challenged as ever, and through our work here at the W2O we are amplifying the power of science, education, imagination and invention through our global exchange of approaches and solutions. After fifteen years our mission remains the same: to advocate for the health of the ocean through education, public connection and relentless communications. This remains as useful, relevant and innovative for today as for the future. With your financial support we will continue to provide contributions and solutions for a more sustainable future with the ocean leading the way.

Thank you for considering support of our work.

With best wishes for the Holiday Season
from all of us here at the World Ocean Observatory
