Now more than ever, we find hope and resilience in California's extraordinary state park system.

As we look ahead to 2021, the Parks California team will launch new programs in partnership with State Parks through joint priorities that improve park access, cultural relevance, resource stewardship and park assets. Specifically, we will:

• Increase park visibility through storytelling and communications
   
• Help build park relevancy for a broader constituency by uncovering historic untold stories that occurred in and around current park units
   
• Broaden our support of state park programs by raising funds for Junior Rangers, Junior Lifeguard Program, and PORTS Home Learning Programs
   
• Assist with increasing the capacity of state parks and its partners to address natural resource challenges
   
• Create pathways for future state park employees representative of California’s diverse population
   
• Provide tools and training for state park scientists necessary to effectively manage resource challenges
