Send Us Your Nativity Set Photos
This is your last chance to send in your nativity photos. The deadline is Sunday, December 20th. This year, we would like to invite you to TAKE A PHOTO of your Nativity set and send it to the church. There is still time. We have decided to save them and show them at the Christmas Eve worship. You can take a photo of tiny ones all the way up to large outdoor displays. If you have more than one, feel free to send us multiple photos. You can email them directly to office@ramonaumc.org or send a link from Google photos, iCloud, or your favorite photo sharing app. If you have print photos, call and we can arrange to carefully scan them and return your photos to you.

Christmas Eve Worship
Thursday, December 24th
Join us Christmas Eve for a carol-filled celebration of the birth of Christ with special a special appearance of our youth and children. Below are things to note for the Christmas Eve worship service.
1. Find some candles: We will end the service with our traditional candle lit singing of Silent Night and Joy to the World. We invite you to find a candle or flashlight (as a safer alternative) and be prepared to join us from the comfort of your own home at the end of the service.
A Box of Candles will be at the church in the afternoon on the 22nd and all day Christmas Eve. If you would like, you can stop by and pick up one, or a few for your family, along with paper wax protectors. (Please use caution while burning candles, especially indoors)
2. ZOOM: There will be a Zoom Chat time from 6:30 to 7:00 much like there is before church on Sunday mornings. Join your friends and wish them a Merry Christmas! You will also be able to watch the service on Zoom at 7:00 pm if you prefer. Use the links found at RamonaUMC.org/Sunday |

Special Conference Worship Service
December 27th
The Bishop and leadership came together and organized a very special worship service for the last Sunday of the year in order to give all of the pastors and church staff's some much needed time off. This worship includes three short messages from three of our best preachers and musical guests from all around the conference all combined together into a single worship service. December 27th will be a worship service you will not want to miss. Even though Pastor John, Tim, and Deborah won't be there, you will find the replacement very entertaining and very inspiring.

The Pastor and staff of the church will be taking some much deserved time off from Christmas through January 3rd. Pastor John will be available for emergencies. Tim will be undergoing a planned procedure on his ear and recuperating during this time.

Here is how it works.
- You buy a gift card (for example, a $25 Albertsons Card).
- You go to Albertsons and spend the $25.
It costs you nothing extra, however the church is charged $1 less than $25 for the card and gets to keep the 4% difference. It’s a simple idea that can raise money for the church while you just keep doing what you are already doing.
Amazon (2.25%) is one of the many, many companies that participates in the scrip program. Companies where the church receives the highest giving amounts include Old Navy (14%), Gap (14%), Bath & Body Works (12%), Chili's (11%), Macy's (10%), Rubio's (10%), Chipotle (10%), Barnes & Noble (8%), Domino's (8%), Buffalo Wild Wings (8%), Panera Bread (8%), Starbucks (7%) and TJ Maxx (7%).

How To Watch Worship
HOW DO I FIND OUR WORSHIP SERVICE?
Our worship premiers on YouTube each Sunday morning at 9:45 am. You can watch it along with many others for the first time from 9:45 to 10:45 every Sunday morning. By 11:00 am, it is available on YouTube to start and stop whenever you like, so you can watch it on your own schedule and convenience.

We have a page on our website where everything you need for Sunday morning is in one place. The worship service plays right on the page. There are links to a printable bulletin and links to our Zoom Chat time before worship. If you have a computer or tablet, the website is a great place to start.

For those who would like to watch our new YouTube Live Worship service on your Smart TV, Roku, Google, Amazon, or Apple device, the above link will help with basic instructions including a video made by your very own Pastor John.

All of our worship services are uploaded on our YouTube channel. If you use the above link, it will take you to our Channel which is like a webpage on YouTube where you can easily find all of our previous worship services. On that page you should see a "SUBSCRIBE" button. If you press that button and subscribe to our channel, you will get instant updates whenever we upload a new worship services or other video.

When we first began online-only worship, it was on Zoom meetings. We are still using Zoom for our pre-worship chat time. Zoom is an app you download onto your computer or tablet or smart phone that allows you to audio and/or video conference with others. It is a great place to start your Sunday morning at 9:20 before the worship begins. Use the link above to learn how to download and install Zoom. For a few who prefer to still use this method, we are continuing to show the worship service on Zoom as well.

How to Lift up a Prayer Request to be Shared in Worship
Since we are recording our Sunday morning worship services on Saturday morning so the quality of the music is better and there is no fear of the Internet signal dropping, we cannot ask for prayer requests during the worship service.
Because of this arrangement, prayer concerns for worship can be submitted throughout the week but have to be turned in by
10:15 am on Saturday to be sure they are included in Sunday's worship service when it premieres. You can send us your prayer concerns anytime one of the following three different ways.

Upper Room Devotionals Available
The November - December 2020 Upper Room Devotionals are available in the Office. If you would like a copy, please contact the office and we will send you a copy. You can also stop by any Thursday afternoon (except Thanksgiving) to pick one up.

NOTE: We are currently deciding how many copies of each edition to order for 2021. If you would like to start or restart getting the devotional on a regular basis, please contact the church office and let us know ASAP. We would be happy to arrange for delivery of them to you or arrange for easy pickup until we return to in-person worship.

Starting back up Wednesday, January 6th, Midweek Connection is a Wednesday night virtual gathering of the Ramona UMC Community. Our gatherings are at 6:30 pm on Zoom. Please join us for a time of Connection, Encouragement, and Discipleship. It is a time of music, reflection, discussion, and prayer. Everyone is welcome. Record your Attendance each Sunday
Check-in online! Remember during each service on Sundays, to click the QR Code with your phone and check in online. Have your phone ready to scan the code. You can use the app on your phone to scan the code right off your computer screen, TV, or iPad. The code each week is unique and automatically fills in the date of the worship service you are watching. This way it works even if you are watching a replay of an older service.
Do You Need A QR Code Reader?
Apple phones come with the QR code reader app. If you have another device like an Android phone, you will need to install the app. Simply open your App store, or Play Store and search for "Trend Micro QR Scanner" This is the best version of the app that I have found. Then install the free program. On Sunday, open this app and use it to scan the QR code. As soon as the app sees the QR Code on the screen, it will automatically take you to the attendance page. Just type in your name(s), email address, click submit, and you are done.

You can manage your giving more efficiently by setting up a recurring payments. Both options 1 and 2 above allow you to select recurring and chose from a variety of options such as weekly, twice a month ,or monthly.

However financial giving is important as well. Keeping the facility safe, and our ministries funded is vital to our work.
