MISSOURI HOSA 2021 VIRTUAL STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2021
|
|
|
|
The Missouri HOSA 2021 State Leadership Conference scheduled originally for March 22-23, 2021 in Rolla, Missouri is transitioning to a virtual format. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Missouri University of Science and Technology is unable to host the event onsite, along with travel restrictions for many school districts across the state.
The Missouri HOSA 2021 State Leadership Conference will now transition to a week-long event beginning on March 22, 2021 and ending on March 26, 2021. Please see the Missouri HOSA 2021 Virtual State Leadership Conference Details attachment for further information.

Registration will open on Monday, January 4, 2021 and will close on Monday, February 1, 2021. Registration fees will be $25.00 per student member and $15.00 per Local Chapter Advisor and must be paid to Missouri HOSA, ATTN: Shelly Wehmeyer, 5th Floor, P.O. Box 480, Jefferson City, MO 65102. In order to register, a chapter must be in good standing and all members must be affiliated.

WONDER WEDNESDAY WEBINAR SERIES

As part of the Missouri HOSA 2020-2021 State Officer Team’s Program of Work, they have developed Wonder Wednesday Webinars for student members the first Wednesday of each month from 4:30-5:30 pm. This is an opportunity for student members to learn more about healthcare careers. Information regarding the upcoming webinar is advertised on the Missouri HOSA website at https://www.missourihosa.org/wonder-wednesdays, and through other Missouri HOSA social media outlets. Please encourage your Local Chapter Members to tune in!
The next webinar is scheduled for January 6, 2021 at 4:30 pm where participants will learn more about building a Health Policy Career! As part of this webinar, the Missouri HOSA State Officer Team will also be playing Kahoot with all participants with chances to win HOSA swag! Be sure to have your students join in on the fun!

Missouri HOSA would like to send a shout out to our first two Local Chapter Advisors to complete the Fall 2020 HOSA TALL-Bronze Level Course available through HOSA-Future Health Professionals. Congratulations to David May, Cass Career Center, and Jennifer Woolery, Lee’s Summit West High School, who completed this online, five-week course focused on all that HOSA can offer to you and your student members!

HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY VIRTUAL JOB FAIR SET FOR DECEMBER 22, 2020
|
|
|
On Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, the Missouri Office of Workforce Development (OWD) will host a Return Strong Virtual Job Fair in partnership with the Missouri Hospital Association. This fair will specifically seek job candidates to fill entry-level clinical and non-clinical positions throughout Missouri.
More than 180 employers have already reserved their virtual booths for the Healthcare Industry Virtual Job Fair! Job seekers statewide will be able to search job listings, meet with hiring companies in the health care sector, receive tips for resume writing and job interviews, and learn more about Missouri Job Center services and training opportunities.
Job seekers can register for any of the upcoming fairs at https://returnstrongmo.easyvirtualfair.com/. Job seekers should create a profile and upload their resumes so employers can easily reach out after the fairs. Feel free to share this information with your student members! |

Pre-recorded videos and lessons are available “on-demand” for Local Chapter Advisors and HOSA student members for classroom instruction and competition support! These are a free resource being made available by HOSA-Future Health Professionals to help HOSA advisors cope in the virtual world of teaching with HOSA activities. New lessons are continually added with the most recent update made December 11, 2020.

2020-2021 AFFILIATION INFORMATION

The 2020-2021 Affiliation Packet can be found at http://hosa.org/affiliation. With a new look to the HOSA Management System, HOSA Headquarters has also released a step-by-step video to assist you with affiliation. If you have forgotten your password, click the “Forgot Password?” link located at https://apps.hosa.org/. The 2020-2021 International and Missouri affiliation dues are $15.00 total per member. Please make sure that all contact information for Local Chapter Advisors is included. Also assure that all members have paid their dues prior to affiliation, as your school district will be charged if affiliation is completed. Affiliation fees should be sent to HOSA Headquarters, 548 Silicon Drive, #101, Southlake, TX 76092.
