We hope those of you who celebrated Hannukah over the last eight nights had a happy and safe holiday. For those of you shopping for Christmas, we have passed many of our deadlines for online shopping that will allow for books to arrive (or be picked up) by December 25th.

We're doing our very best to work as speedily as possible on your orders! Like many bookstores and small businesses right now, we are currently working through myriad challenges—including shipping gridlock and delays, Gmail crashes, out-of-stock titles at distributors, and a backlog of orders that we are truly grateful for, but—in the age of social distancing and limited capacities in our workspaces—order processing takes time.

Last Call for Gift Cards!

Today—Friday, December 18—is the deadline to place orders for gift cards with an intended delivery before December 25. We'll mail your gift card directly to the recipient, with a custom message, if you'd like. Gift cards are available in a range of values, from $25 to $250, and can be redeemed in-person at Harvard Book Store or online at harvard.com. They never expire, and gift cards are a great way to support this independent business in these final days of 2020.

Snazz Up a Gift Card

We've prepared our "Quick Gift Bundles" as a perfect last-minute gift this year. These bundles are a one-stop-shop and are intended to ship directly to your recipients. Pair a Harvard Book Store gift card ($25, $50, $85, or $120) with some bookish swag—a mug, a desk calendar, a lightweight tote bag—and it will be delivered to your loved one in a gift box with red tissue paper. Place orders by Sunday, December 20 for intended delivery by December 25th.

Our "No Rush" Sale

For a limited time, we are offering 10% off harvard.com orders with coupon code XMASCANWAIT. These orders will be automatically set aside in our system, to be processed after December 25th. Note that it may take us a week or two to process these orders once we begin to review them. We wanted a way to say thank you for shopping with us despite the wait.

In October, we said "October is the new December" and in November we said "November Is the New December"—all as a part of our "Shop Early" initiative. After this long, hard year, why not extend the holidays another month. Perhaps we can make January the new December?

Next Week's Hours

Curbside Pickup

Our curbside pickup station is open daily (9AM–6PM). We'll email you pickup instructions with the subject line “It’s Ready!” once your order has been processed and prepared. Curbside Pickup will be closed on Christmas Day.

In-Store Shopping

We have typically been closed on Mondays, but we will be open on Monday, December 21. We close at 6PM on Sundays. If you choose to shop with us in person, please note our safety guidelines and be prepared to wait in a socially distanced line outside the store if we are at capacity when you visit.
