LAST UPDATE OF 2020

Hi <<First Name>> here are my last updates for 2020

The Chancellor made another surprise announcement this week in what must be a response to the continuing resilience of coronavirus. He has extended the furlough scheme and the closing date for government-backed loan applications.

Details of the changes are:
  • The furlough scheme was due to end 31 March 2021. It has now been extended to 30 April 2021. Government support will continue at 80% towards hours not worked.
  • Government-guaranteed loans scheme applications were due to end 31 January 2021. This end date for applications has now been extended to 31 March 2021.
The budget date for 2021 also announced
Ending further speculation and uncertainty, the Chancellor has confirmed that he will be making his annual budget presentation to Parliament, March 3rd, 2021. Further support for ailing small business may be included in his presentation.
New for 2021
George
As a company, we have decided that each year we are going to support a charity. So for 2021, we have decided our Charity of the Year will be The Normandy Memorial Trust. George Batts MBE is a D Day Veteran and a good friend of mine, he has been responsible for raising the £20m which had paid for the Memorial overlooking Gold Beach. However, he would now like to raise further funds to see an Educational Centre built on the site. His hope is that through education, future generations will look towards more peaceful solutions to conflict.

Are you up for a challenge?
We are currently planning a funding raising event in conjunction with the IAB. This will be a Sponsored Bike ride from the office in Kent to Normandy, with the aim to arrive in time for the 75th D Day celebrations and the unveiling of the new memorial. Fabián Hamilton MP will be joining us and I would welcome anyone with a bike (and enjoyment of a challenge) to join in! I will let you know more in the new year.

Wishing you and your families a wonderful Christmas.

Stay safe and well while we welcome in the New Year.
