Eisemann Songbook is a Live to Stereo DSD 256 recording made at Supersize Recording Studio in Hungary by PapaJazz, a Jazz Quintet using the Hapi Analog to DSD 256 converter from Merging Technologies. The album is a swinging tribute to the upbeat Jazz music of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s written by Milhaly Eisemann.
PapaJazz recaptures this era by playing vintage instruments which contribute to the sound of the band. Percussion on the album features a set of vintage drums made and played by Balazs Cesh after he studied the drums used in the music of the 1920s. The trumpet and all the saxophones heard on the album are from the first half of the 20th Century. Of special note is the C Melody Saxophone, which is located between the Tenor Saxophone and the Alto Saxophone in the sonic spectrum. Production of the C Melody Saxophone ended in the early 1930s. Even so, PapaJazz features two C Melody Saxophones on this DSD 256 recording!

This is music born in the forest, filled with the light of the sun coming through the leaves and freshness of a forest lake. It is free, like breath.
The “Like Breath” album is the result of the lockdown. In mid-March, like so many other people across the world, I had to give up moving around and stay at home. At first it was not so bad, but three months on I realized that unless I went to the forest something really bad would happen to me.
So, I started going to the forest two or three times a week to spend ten or twelve hours at a time just walking, while days at home between trips seemed lost from life. Half a year later the carillon in Peter and Paid fortress became accessible again. I had been missing this instrument a great deal and decided to try and play music I’d heard in my head during my walks.
Thus was the album recorded on the very first day when, after several long months in the forest, I finally had access to the carillon.

Forgotten Tales of a Forest is pianist Ikumi Ogasawara’s second piano solo album available from Vivid Productions at NativeDSD Music.
The music on the album is a work in which the message of today’s somewhat chaotic times is quietly, deeply, and gently spun with a melody that goes to the piano and is delivered to the listener sincerely. Like Ikumi’s earlier album “Tears of Joy” (also available from NativeDSD), the fresh and lyrical tone of her fine piano playing is produced with wonderful quality and sonics in this high resolution recording.
