Dear <<First Name>>,

What an incredible year.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who have walked alongside us this year and who inspired us, shined their light and shared hope and awareness with us.

At the end of this year, I feel so incredibly grateful.

This was the year where we had a chance to deeply feel many emotions, from disappointment of what was to gratitude for the empty spaces it created. And at the same time, for many there were new stresses with kids at home, loneliness or health issues. There was also some grief for WIN with office changes and financial uncertainty. At the same time there was and still is a feeling of anticipation of the new to come, determination to transform and knowledge that we are meant for these times.

I had a curious discovery this September that in some ways these challenges make me feel alive. Coming together to create a new beginning with the feminine at its core reminded me of the passion we had when we first began WIN. We knew we were set to change the world. That feeling is here again.

Each and every one of you has a gift to offer to the world and in fact you are the gift.

This was a year in which we had to trust and be deeply grounded and present - staying in fear was not an option. This was the year that we truly understood what authenticity means as we looked each other directly in the face on our Zoom or Team calls, where kids might run by in the background, or a dog or a husband or wife walk by. We had to reflect on our inner journeys and trust our intuition, realizing the past struggles turned out to have been marvellous training grounds for this time. This is the year when even the most conservative began to share their thoughts about purpose, joy and meditation and asked how to join a movement of conscious women leaders and men, such as with WIN. The new beginning is here.

***

A couple of days ago, we invited the everyone who has been to a WIN event to join our classic mobilizing workshop and holiday celebration. We worked in groups on what we are grateful for and the gifts that have come our way this year. Likewise, we shared what we will let go of and what we wish to bring with us into the new yer, a new beginning.

Imagine if you are to go on a trip right now - what will you bring with you, of new habits, ideas, things and ways? What will you leave behind?

Maybe you wish to think about this now. Try listing three of each and choosing the most important one to you. So many shared how wellness and deeply trusting relationships had become their priority - being a friend, trusting and finding ways to transform fear. So many shared they wish to let go of resentfulness, overwork and fear. These answers were different from previous years' –  softer, more filled with love for oneself, each other and our planet and the world.

It is in the how that the magic lies. It is in the how that we will be remembered.

Many women have not been heard, seen and valued enough and it is important to let go of all resentment about it. Feel it, acknowledge it and send it to the light. Because it doesn’t matter whether we were right or not or about winning or losing. We no longer need anything to hold us down - we transform that entire thought form. And as the renaissance women and men of our time, we know that our unique creativity is needed more than ever.  We make our oasis when we meet at WIN, where we value, see and hear each other and connect to flourish with purpose and joy. This is vital. It is all about creating new spaces where we put each other in the right light and from where possibilities emerge.

We are at a new threshold. Even with all challenges and the fear from health to economic turbulence, there is also a vast canvas of possibilities ahead of us. When we come together, there is hope. We need each other.

The challenges make us stronger, just like a diamond. Our light will reach further.

Wishing you a joyous festive time and a happy new year.

With love and courage,
Kristin Engvig & The WIN Team

At this year's WIN Corporate Forum, Lisa Kepinski shared how change-makers can apply behavioural insights to get more people engaged in taking action for increasing inclusion, equity, and diversity. One of the first steps is to identify the key challenges, the desired outcomes, and the resulting gaps. Inclusion Nudges are practical and proven ways to help steer the unconscious to be more inclusive. By applying these, people are more committed to taking action. If you missed WIN's Corporate Forum on Creating an Inclusive Organization, make sure you watch the recording, and get your copy of The Inclusion Nudges for Motivating Allies book, which gives you 30 ways to do this. Learn more about Inclusion Nudges here.
Our other speakers from the Corporate Forum, Paul Vanderbroeck & Jannie Aasted Skov-Hansen shared the increase in global couples and what that means for the world, organizations and our lives. If you missed the Corporate Forum, you can still watch the recording and also consult their book, Here We Are: The International Career Couple Handbook, which offers: a unique and empowering perspective on the topic of international mobility and dual careers,  toolbox to map your future as an International Career Couple, real examples of successful International Career Couples that will inspire both current and future couples, practical advice for employers ready to attract, deploy and retain global talent. According to Kristin Engvig: “This book is extremely relevant and will just continue to be so as the world is globalizing and people meet across borders and boundaries.” Learn more about the Career Couple Handbook here
One partner organization we will also highlight in this edition is Joana Visa, who has run workshops at WIN for many years and is offering a coaching skills course for leaders or aspiring coaches for 12 weeks starting March 1st. This course is the tutelage of the Coach Master Academy. In these unstable times, it is necessary to learn how to cope with change and successfully overcome economic and business turmoil. Tthe course is ICF-accredited and WIN ladies enjoy a significant discount for the course, paying only 2,600 euros (VAT included), down from 3,500 euros. Complete information is here or by contacting Joana here
A collaboration between Rotary International, WIN and CSPOC, we invite you to join the International Rotary Educators Fellowship for as little as 20 USD a year. We feel that IFRE should reflect the Rotary International governance structure with Zone, District and Club based groups that respect local issues and culture and are Ambassadors for Change. However, ‘Rome was not built in a day’ and we need to consider a step-by-step approach that celebrates passion and commitment to positive change. We believe this is key to finding self-sustaining solutions for our Earth. Rotary International has more than 1.2 million members in 35,000 clubs in 200 countries, and is a true vehicle to achieve positive global change. Learn more here.

We are grateful to the organizations supporting WIN
