December 2020
It’s been quite a year hasn’t it?  If you’ve tragically lost friends or family to COVID, my heart goes out to you.  If the virus hasn’t wafted into your life at all, I hope your good fortune continues.   For many, 2020 has been a nightmare, while others have been relatively untouched.

I chose this holiday image of the little boathouse in Maine because it evokes strong feelings in me of both gratitude and loneliness, but more so, the overwhelming human desire to gather. The inability to freely and safely do so has affected all of us.  For most living in the northern hemisphere, the fresh breezes of summer are long gone and we ‘re back to being cooped up in front of the TV, watching old movies or athlete’s competing in cavernous empty arenas and stadiums.  Hopefully a few streaming concerts have helped along the way.  It’s been a long ten months.

However, the sun starts to shine longer in just one week.  Spring will begin its tortoise like return, the vaccine will soon be available, this planet-wide nightmare will hopefully be over and gathering will return with a vengeance!
Dingle Ireland

As someone in a job that involves both gathering and travel, it goes without saying how difficult the year has been professionally, but I think the most disappointing thing of 2020 was having to cancel our return group tour to Ireland.

Gabriel Donohue and I were scheduled to bring a group back to his homeland in early June 2021, but after speaking with our tour director, Niall Leogue, we feel June might still be iffy for group travel.  However, everyone involved feels confident things will be back to normal by mid-summer and well in the clear by fall, so we are looking forward to going the last week in September, most likely September 22.

There are still slots open on this trip.  If you are interested in the details, click here for tour info and itinerary.   You’ll notice the link still lists June rather than September, but that will be corrected shortly.

Christmas in Key West

I begin a two-week engagement at the Smokin’ Tuna Saloon in Key West, December 21 through January 2, and you can check my website for dates and performance times.

I will be doing a Facebook Live Christmas show on December 23, beginning at 7:00 pm.  Tune in to my Facebook page to watch!

Beginning in January, I will be playing three shows each week at the Tuna and those dates will be released shorty.  On January 9, I will be performing in Sebring, FL, at Little Key West.  Tix available here!

Speaking of Christmas, if any of you are looking for last minute gifts, please check out the Little Flock Music web store for music and merchandise from the stable of Little Flock artists.

In the beginning of the new year, we will begin booking tour dates across the country for 2021.   More on that in next month’s Mumbo Jumbo!

Happy Holidays and a Hopeful 2021!
