2020 | 2021

A really extraordinary year is coming to an end. Despite considerable restrictions, the special situation also made new things possible. With best wishes for the coming year, I would like to use this newsletter to show that I am grateful for everything that has been made possible.

During the time in lockdown I was able to realize projects that had been a concern of mine for a long time, but for which I always didn‘t have the time. I would like to introduce three of them below. But first and foremost, a new year‘s greeting as a video. This time Arne Dreske made the music with Masha Kashyna. Thank you very much, as well as everyone else who helped curate, organize and realize the projects this year!

THE AWAKENING - PROGRESSION

The free time in lockdown finally enabled me to familiarize myself with the Resolume Arena software. It offers fantastic opportunities to deal with space and projections.

Many thanks to the AK2 gallery for the opportunity to realize this new light space idea. For me it was a return to a concrete, calm and reduced aesthetic. Because the gallery had to close, the installation could be seen from the outside.

ALL JUST A FACADE

Finally doing something with your hands again. Wouldn‘t it be great if oversized hands transform, embellish and enchant houses. How can it look like combining the digital idea of architectural mapping with analogue drawing means? Thanks to the „Wennfeldhaus air next“ project, which was relocated to the open for Corona reasons, I was finally able to try it out as a sketch of the possibilities. It was definitely not the last time.

THE REELKIRCHEN PROJECT

A visual piano concert as an installation with a video loop recorded in advance in the studio. People can come and go, get out of their way as they please. This relaxes the time spent together and avoids contacts that are too long or too close. It worked well thanks to the music of Timber Hanreicher, who only worked with voice collages out of respect for the medieval architecture. Quite honestly - I prefer to play live, but I was able to enjoy the installation myself from a viewer‘s perspective.
