Awarded Best of Show

You might remember the show that I invited you to last month, "Old Myths New Stories". Fifty-two works were juried into this show from over 190 entries. Two of my works were selected. The show opened on November 7th and although Covid restrictions meant that there couldn't be a real opening, they did a virtual one. It was during this opening that I learned that my work, "Begin Again" received Best of Show, a much appreciated feather in my cap!

Portrait Society of America Finalist

"Impenetrable Princess" is among the finalists for Portrait Society of America's member competition, in the category “Out of the Box”. This recognition means that my work is now on the radar of the most prestigious organization for portrait painters in the US. As a prize, this piece will soon be shown on portraitsociety.org, on their social media and in their monthly publication to members. I'm honored and grateful!

"Impenetrable Princess" is again in the spotlight as Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, one of pop culture's favorite artist publications has shared it with their 650K Instagram followers. This has garnered me some attention in the form of messages from fans, interest from collectors and new followers of my very own.

Old Myths, New Stories — Temporarily on Hold
The Curtis Center for the Arts in Greenwood Village is temporarily closed, due to the pandemic. They are currently saying that the show will reopen on the 20th, but I'm skeptical. Once the show reopens, they've promised to extend it. I will let you know in my next email, once it's open again and for how long.
