A Special Thank You To
Church Women United

We would like to acknowledge a very generous donation from Church Women United. This donation was made known to us by Mary Smith, a member of the organization and membership chair of RRCAHT.
Mary told us that because of the possible harm to donations during COVID-19, the board of Church Women United in the Rochester area felt that non-profit organizations such as RRCAHT, who have similar goals to their own -- helping vulnerable people -- could use a financial "boost."
"Thus," Mary said, "it was the unanimous decision of the CWU board to support your endeavors with a sizable donation at this time."

RRCAHT  2020 Survivors  Fund Donations
Every year, RRCAHT sets aside funds to support survivors of human trafficking in our community. Member organizations may ask for funds for a specific purpose. This year, Center for Youth received a donation for a client and her young son for Christmas presents.

Gift cards were given to Willow Domestic Violence Center to help two survivors and a donation was made to Hope & Help Counseling, a COVID-19 emotional help hotline.

COMING SOON: Webinar: "The Weaponization of Child Trafficking" with Presenter Melanie Blow.
One day you’re struggling to make people believe that human trafficking happens in their own neighborhood. The next day, half of your Facebook friends think a furniture retailer is trafficking kidnapped children. References to child trafficking and legalizing pedophilia are everywhere, and you keep hearing all this stuff about QAnon.

What’s going on?! Why have human trafficking and child sexual abuse been weaponized over night? What does it say about us as a society? And what opportunities and obligations does it represent for the anti-human trafficking community?
RRCAHT founding member and board member Melanie Blow will answer these questions and more in an upcoming webinar -- stay tuned. Melanie is active in legislative advocacy, the anti-human trafficking community, the sex abuse survivor community, and has a passion for cultural history and sociology. And she’s going to bring it all together in a webinar. Keep checking your email for the specific time and date.
