Who will get it first?
Due to limited supplies, the County is taking a phased approach to vaccine distribution. Phase 1 includes the highest-risk people, starting with frontline health workers and long-term care facility staff and residents. Phase 2 includes the general public.
2 Vaccines On The Way
Two different COVID-19 vaccines will be made available to some San Luis Obispo County residents by the end of December. Getting vaccinated will reduce your risk of getting COVID-19 by working with your body’s natural defenses to recognize the virus that causes COVID-19 and produce antibodies to fight the virus.
When Can You Get One?
We don't know yet when we will have enough supplies to vaccinate the general public (Phase 2). Only some of the highest risk people, particularly frontline health care workers, can expect to receive a vaccine in the next month or two. Other high-risk individuals can expect to get vaccinated closer to March 2021.
Where Can I Get Info?
There is no waiting list for the vaccine. Instead, the County will inform the public when vaccines become available for various groups of high-risk individuals and for the general public.
