We cannot teach people anything; we can only help them discover it within themselves.
~ Galileo Galilei

<<First Name>>,

The fact that you are contemplating getting help is a good enough reason to speak up and reach out. However, you only cry for help if you believe that there is help to cry for.

If you struggle with asking for help, this is for you.

  • In the beginning, be comfortable asking for help when you are stuck.
Never assume someone will be there to rescue. A number of persons are often hesitant to jump in and help because they fear that it will not be welcome.
Imagine spending hours transcribing minutes of a meeting when you could have recorded and transcribed with Otter.ai?

The internet is an amazing place to seek for help outside of your network. Be explicit and let people know you need help.

  • Focus on optimizing the way you ask for help
You wouldn't want a lawyer to prescribe your medicine, would you?  You would need to ask for help from people who are equipped to help in the way that you need. Nobody wants to give help when they don’t feel qualified to.

  • Your mindset!
If you can embrace the idea that people do want to help, then the rest comes easily. Let people be of help to you: save for therapist, nobody wants to help when your request feels transactional. They would rather monetize and charge you a standard price.

Lest I forget, you don’t have to apologize and you don’t have to compensate. There are kind people out there! It would save you more time. And you are never alone.

Book of the Year

Atomic Habits
James Clear

  1. An atomic habit is a regular practice or routine that is not only small and easy to do but is also the source of incredible power; a component of the system of compound growth.
  2. Bad habits repeat themselves again and again not because you don’t want to change, but because you have the wrong system for change.
  3. Changes that seem small and unimportant at first will compound into remarkable results if you’re willing to stick with them for years.
