Coaching Point: Seems pretty emphatic, doesn’t he?
The quote is from a longer treatise wherein he demonstrates that upset is not caused by what happens ‘out there’ it’s how we react to it ‘in here.’ All upset is a reaction.
That’s good news because when (not if, when) you find yourself being upset you only have to look within to see why you are reacting the way you are. Good news because it’s a lot easier to change your reaction than it is to change ‘out there.’
