American Airlines Flight Attendant Union Applauds Biden's Nomination of Pete Buttigieg as Transportation Secretary

(Euless, TX) - The Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA), representing 27,000 Flight Attendants at American Airlines, fully supports President-elect Joe Biden’s nomination of Pete Buttigieg to lead the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). From his time in the military to his public service, Pete Buttigieg has been a trailblazer. We believe that he will provide the type of energetic leadership that the DOT will need in the coming years to update our transportation infrastructure.

A healthy aviation industry drives our nation’s economy and will play a significant role in worldwide vaccine distribution. Our air transportation system must be healthy, intact, and adequately staffed to rapidly move doses of the vaccine to all corners of the world. We look forward to working with Secretary-designate Buttigieg to ensure our aviation industry rebounds quickly and to establish aviation infrastructure investments into the future.
