Happy Holidays, Issaquah

As we approach a new year, and look forward to brighter times ahead, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to this amazing community.

From actions big and small, you’ve proven Issaquah’s resiliency.

Thank you – first responders, healthcare professionals and essential workers – for your selfless, sustained service.

Meanwhile, I’m also grateful for Issaquah residents who are checking in on vulnerable neighbors, shopping and eating local (#IssaquahLoyal) and wearing a mask.

With COVID-19 cases skyrocketing in King County, it's more important than ever to stop the spread. The safest option is to avoid gathering with people you don't live with this holiday season.

Are you feeling sick? A new option for convenient, free COVID-19 testing is now on the Eastside at Bellevue College. This site, open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays, is open to anyone, regardless of insurance or immigration status.

How can we celebrate safely this season? Here’s a few ideas:

From my family to yours, we're wishing you a healthy, safe and restful holiday season.

Yours in Service,

Mayor Mary Lou Pauly

Nominate Someone Today!

Each year, the City Council President and I select a person to induct into the Issaquah Hall of Fame for making a lasting difference in our community.

The annual award recognizes the efforts of exemplary individuals with records of inspiration, leadership and service. Past recipients include Rowan Hinds, Joe Forkner, Fred Butler, David Kappler, Francis Walton and Dan Anderson.

Meanwhile, we’ve also created a special “2020 Hero Award” this year to honor community heroes who recognized a need in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic – and answered the call for help.

While we will select one person or group for this award, the City plans to celebrate and share several stories of local heroes.

Ideas of people to nominate:
  • Healthcare workers
  • Essential workers
  • Helpful neighbors
  • Local business owners
  • Volunteers

Please nominate community members for either honor via our easy online form by 5 p.m. Dec. 23.
