The People's Art Fair: Winter Edition

Late opening tonight!

We're opening the pop-up shop until late tonight, so if you haven't managed to make it down to see the show yet then we'll be welcoming people in from 4-8pm! Your final final chance to see the show in person will be this weekend from 12-6pm, both Saturday and Sunday.

If you're isolating or can't make it down then the whole exhibition is available to explore online, and despite all the restrictions we have already sold a festive sack-load of unique art from talented local artists (including a few who have never shown their work in a public exhibition before).

A huge thank you to all the art lovers and members of the local community who are supporting this incredible event. Volunteers, artists, and our crew have given up their time in difficult conditions to make this such an exciting and successful show, and we are so grateful for everyone's efforts - look at them go!

This is the last week of the show so on Sunday evening we are taking it all down, though some of the work will be available to buy through our website until the New Year.

Pop-up Shop Opening Hours:
Wednesday 16 Dec: 4 - 8pm
Sunday 19 Dec: 12 - 6pm
Saturday 20 Dec: 12 - 6pm

Festive shopping at Stokes Croft China

Oh my, so busy! Unsurprisingly you've all gone mad for china this year - and online shopping in general - and taking into account the postal delays across the country we recommend getting your online orders in by this Friday 18th December. Once we've popped your order in the post it's out of our hands, but here's some great advice on how to avoid showing up emptyhanded on Christmas Day!

If you're local to us then we'd advise skipping the post altogether and choosing to click & collect from our shop on Jamaica Street - we're open every day until Christmas so you're guaranteed to get the goods.

December Opening Hours:
Monday - Saturday: 11am - 6pm
Sunday: 12 - 4pm

We'll also be here in the hazy in-between days, with slightly reduced hours so we can enjoy some downtime too. We're open Christmas Eve but then we're taking a few days off - from Monday 28 until Thursday 31 Dec we'll be open from 11am - 4pm.

Last week we shared some ideas for how to spend your money this December in a way that benefits the local community or supports important causes. Here’s a few other places you can put your money that will have a direct and positive impact...

Close the Barracks - Bristol Solidarity Action

The Home Office is moving asylum seekers from UK cities to ex-military barracks. This move has been widely criticised for providing appalling living conditions, leaving residents vulnerable to abuse and disease, and lacking in support. People seeking asylum in Bristol have been taken to Penally barracks in Wales, a move condemned by the Welsh government. Join the protest to challenge this racist policy, show solidarity with people in the barracks and call for their immediate closure. Bring banners + placards + noise. Please wear masks & observe social distancing. Meet at Colston’s empty plinth in the city centre Thursday 17 Dec, 1.30 - 2.30pm.

An Invitation from the City

The City Office invites you to the second virtual City Gathering for Bristol. The gathering will provide an opportunity for partners from across the city to come together, reflect on the ways in which the city has responded to the Covid-19 pandemic and share progress on key city initiatives. Most importantly, it will set out the city’s intentions to continue the process of recovering and rebuilding Bristol together, and outline opportunities for action. Friday 18 Dec, 10am - 1pm.

Are you OK?
