Saturday at the Roundhouse

                                               December 19th
All of us have seen our lives and routines disrupted by the pandemic. Because of the upcoming holidays, this will probably be the last Saturday work day of the year. At the Roundhouse, the list of chores and jobs stays constant.  Christmas tours are now complete and we can return to working on some projects. The excavating work is complete, hopefully some dry weather will allow us to regrade the parking areas and yard.
Last Saturday, volunteers were able to unload a pallet rack in stall 4/5 and move the rack to the warehouse building.  There are still some racks to be emptied and the racks moved along with a cabinet to be emptied and moved. This will help organize inventory and open some much needed work space in the roundhouse adjacent to stall 4. Some of the outdoor Holiday decorations can come down and be boxed up for return to the storage container.
Weather permitting, the bricks in the turntable pit need to sorted and stacked so we can reset them.
We still have more 4070 parts to be retrieved and placed in storage.  There are now pallet racks in the warehouse building to be set up.  Cab work is continuing as we have several boiler side sheets and front sheets fitted and tacked in place.
The America car still has a list of small jobs that need to get done.  Some require skills and some are as simple as polishing brass railings. Check the written list on the side of the car and see where you might help out.
Have a preference for office work?  We still need help with the gift shop reconciling inventory and planning for next season.
The RPCA convention committee is looking for volunteers to help out.  They need help with phone canvasing, reservations, planning visitor gifts and preparing a final presentation to the RPCA board.

Cant shop, can't visit relatives and friends, tired of being in the house?  The roundhouse is a safe and compliant place to work and interface with others. Common areas have recently been sanitized for our safety.
