Whoooo thought we would make it through this tough fall semester?! What a year 2020 has been.

COOL SCHOOL TRAINING

Attention to clubs that may be struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic or keeping up with charters: Maria Landron, formally invites you to the “Cool School Training.” This program, which is open to all CCORE district clubs and members, will run from December 20, 2020-January 10, 2021.

The purpose of the Cool School Training program is that many clubs have indicated COVID-19
pandemic needs that should be addressed, whatever that may look like for you and your club. Trustee Maria, with the help of other sister district’s members’ attendance, will help you and your club leaders prepare for the spring 2021 semester, and continue to create a vision for your club next fall. This four-week training will go over topics to ensure your club becomes the “coolest” school in Ohio. This personalized, strategic, and in-depth training is offered to anyone in CCORE CKI who is interested, but especially your club as part of the Charter Support Group!

Did Someone Say Ohio + CNH Collab?

I am happy to announce that we are partnering with our sister district, California-Nevada-Hawaii to bring you a fun, motivating self-care and personal development-oriented event this winter. We understand the circumstances we’re all facing are hard times, so we want to help out and energize everyone to move forward in 2021!

With that, we ask for your help. Below is a Google Form to fill out any suggestions including any for self-care/personal development workshops or fellowship activities, keynote speakers, and possible event dates in the month of January or early February. Thank you so much in advance!

Be on the lookout for a special update on the Ohio Circle K District Convention. The 2021 “Broadway” themed District Convention will be the weekend of February 26-28, 2021. DCON will be completely virtual this year. We are still hard at work to ensure we get t-shirts, stickers, awards, workshops, speakers, caucusing, house of delegates, and other details finalized. We welcome any suggestions in the form below, and if you are interested in leading a workshop, you can express interest below as well!

SECRETARY-TREASURER UPDATE

The dues deadline has been extended to January 5th, 2021. As of last week, we have 4 clubs paid for the Ohio District. If your club has not yet paid dues, please work on getting them paid as soon as possible.

If you are having difficult
ies with payments or need assistance with anything else related to paying dues, do not hesitate to let us know. We are here to help you work through these challenges! If you have already paid dues, the district board thanks you and your club for your hard work!

For those clubs that have been diligently completing international MRFs and have been updating our district spreadsheet, I thank you so much for your hard work. We need all our clubs to routinely fill out these reports. You are required to fill out the International MRF by the 5th every month.

If you miss a month, you can go back and do reports from past months at any time during the year. You are also required to update the district by filling out the spreadsheet I created for each individual cub. If you are having trouble accessing either of these reporting methods or have any questions please do not hesitate to let me know. I am always here to help!

ENCOURAGEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR:

READY FOR THE 2021-22 SERVICE YEAR?

One last announcement is that winter break and the first part of the spring semester is a perfect time to outreach with members about your transition and search for a successor! I just want to remind club officers to begin thinking about where CKI will bring them next year, and just the same for club members as well! If you or any club members are interested in any of the executive officer positions and/or committee chair positions on the district board, please feel free to reach out to any of the respective officers or chairs! More information about district board positions and their respective elections or appointments will be announced with the upcoming District Convention update.
