The Advocates monitors abuse and persecution of LGBTQ+ people worldwide. We raise awareness and hold governments accountable for the abuses. We provide free legal services to asylum seekers who fled persecution based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Your gift ensures that all people are treated with dignity.

The Advocates works to create laws and policies that protect human rights here and around the world. We work with lawmakers to achieve social and racial justice through human rights standards. We draft and improve laws with local human rights defenders, speak up at the United Nations, and monitor court proceedings. Your gift creates a fairer justice system.

The Advocates trains women's rights defenders to fight against discrimination, trafficking, and gender-based violence. We help partners draft and advocate for laws against domestic violence. We educate girls in the rural Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. Your gift dismantles the barriers to equality that women and girls face every day.

The Advocates uses human rights techniques to assist post-conflict countries with healing and transitional justice. We record the testimony of people who fled violence and document the human rights abuses that they experienced. We determine the root causes of violence, help hold perpetrators accountable, and prevent future human rights abuses. Your gift builds peace in countries recovering from war or unrest.
