Advent Compline Service
***TONIGHT***

Waiting on God...

St. Margaret’s Church will offer a Compline Service each Friday of Advent, at 8 p.m.  Please join us on our Facebook page for this time of reflection, quiet prayer and gentle music.  Compline is a wonderful way to give thanks for the blessings of the day and to ask God’s protection for us during the night.  Paired with the season of Advent, it bids us to wait on God — to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus at Christmas and in each moment of our everyday lives.  Joan Weber will be the officiant for the service.

Longest Night/Blue Christmas Service at St Margaret’s.
Wednesday, December 23 at 5:30 pm
Click HERE for the Zoom link

For those experiencing grief, loss or hardship, the Christmas season is far from the most wonderful time of the year. Typical holiday festivities—merry carol singing, decorating, gathering with family and purchasing gifts—emphasize joy and cheer, leaving little room for pain and grief. In response, St Margaret’s will offer a special virtual service leading up to Christmas that accommodate those for whom the season is trying and difficult on Wednesday, December 23 at 5:30 PM. This service, called Blue Christmas or Longest Night, emphasize the pain of loss felt by many at this time of year, and offer a somber, gentle space to gather. Symbolically, many of these services are held on or around December 21, the date of the winter solstice, the longest night of the year
