It’s Official! Back Bay Ringer’s debut album Merry and Bright has been re-released, just in time for the holidays! After being out of print for many years, Merry and Bright is now available as a digital download from Bandcamp, as well as from Amazon, iTunes, and many other music stores. If you are into streaming, we have you covered there as well: just go to Spotify, Apple Music, or to your favorite streaming service, and look for Back Bay Ringers or Merry and Bright. So, even though we were not able to invite you to join us for holiday concerts this year, you can now invite us into your homes, and we will share some cheer from Christmas Past.
 Released in 2007, Merry and Bright was recorded when BBR had only been around for about 5 years, and contains our very first recording of Change Ring Prelude on Divinum Mysterium, which has since become our signature holiday piece. Merry and Bright presents a diverse program, with favorites such as OnThis Day Earth Shall Ring, Riu Riu Chiu, and Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer. This is just the beginning, as in the coming year we will be releasing all of our previous recordings in digital and streaming formats, as well as some new material not heard before. So stay tuned!
Despite the excitement of our first digital release, and the overall joy of the season, there is no doubt that this has been a difficult year for many individuals and organizations, and BBR is no exception. With the cancellation of all of our concerts and other income-generating events for all of 2020, and the likelihood that this will continue well into the first half of 20201 (if not beyond), BBR is almost entirely dependent on the generosity of our supporters to continue to pay our bills. So if you are in a position to do so (and only if you are in a position to do so!) please consider making a donation to BBR here.
