Youthworks Year 13

Hello all, my name is Lyndon, and I am a member of the 7pm congregation here at St Michael’s. As 2020 comes to a close and I write this letter, I stand amazed at how God has worked this year, while I completed a gap year in the Youthworks Year 13 program.
 
A one-liner from a Year 13 graduate has stuck in my head all year. At Orientation Week, she said, “Don’t have any expectations; even though you think you don’t have any, you do, so get rid of them”. The line was greeted with a brief chuckle among our cohort. Although it was a blanket-like statement, she wanted us to get rid of any bias coming into the year and start with a clean slate. Not bad advice.

CAROLS ON THE LAWN
If you haven't registered for Carols yet, make sure you do ASAP so you don't miss out if we reach capacity! If you have families, we particularly encourage you to come along to the 5pm event which will have kids songs, a kids talk and an opportunity to make some noise! The 8pm event will be more of a classic carols event by candlelight with an Evangelistic talk.

  • Cheese and cracker platter - (2 x cheese, 2 x crackers, deli meats and dried fruit / veg) = $5

  • Fancy ice blocks or ice creams = $2
  • Chip or popcorn packets = 50c
  • Lolly and chocolate bags = $1

CHRISTMAS
If you'd like to join us on-site for any of our Christmas Eve/Day services, it is vital that you book in advance as numbers are limited. There are 3 timeslots for each day:
Christmas Eve: 5pm, 7pm* & 9pm
Christmas Day: 7:30am, 9:15am* & 11am

SUMMER SERVICE TIMES 
This is the last week of regular 8am, 9:45am and 11:30am services. For December 27, January 3 & 10, we will be having Summer Services at 8am, 9:45am (EEC) and 5pm. Kids will be in church for these services (Kids Holiday Program will start January 17), but there will be creche at 9:45 (subject to Safe Ministry compliance).
EQUIP MINISTRY TRAINING YEAR
At St Michael's, our vision is to see more disciples of Jesus shining as lights in our city. One of our key strategies is to equip generations of believers for ministry. If you wish to understand the bible better, to serve wherever you find yourself, and can commit to 5 hours (min) a week, fill out this application form and join us for our 'Equip Ministry Training Year'. CHRISTMAS FLOWERS 
Can you supply some Christmas bush and agapanthus (especially white) to decorate the Cathedral for our Christmas services? If so, please deliver to the office by 9:30am on Christmas Eve.
