"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

FROM OUR INTERIM PASTOR, DR. KEN ALFORD
WHAT A GREAT TIME OF WORSHIP WE HAD ON SUNDAY HERE AT PLEASANT RIDGE! The mini-musical “The Worship of Christmas” presented by the ensemble and instrumentalists was just terrific! I appreciate our Worship Pastor Jonathan Riddle and all of his team for preparing and presenting those wonderful songs. It was also exciting to report that we had exceeded our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering goal of $12,000. I went into the service planning to announce that our total for this annual world missions offering was $8,415, but just before the service started, I received the news from our Executive Ministry Assistant Cheryl Abney that we had received $13,085! God bless you, dear Pleasant Ridge family, for your generosity! Your giving through the Lottie Moon Offering really does make a significant impact in taking the gospel to the nations!
CYNTHIA AND I WANT TO WISH EACH OF YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! It is a joy for us to be a part of the Pleasant Ridge family during this season as your Interim Pastor and wife. Thanks again for this opportunity to serve you! I hope that you will join us for worship on this coming Sunday if you are able to do so. I will be bringing a message entitled, “Facing the Future Without Fear.” Hopefully, the Lord will use His word to calm our hearts as we prepare to enter 2021. If you are not able to be here on this coming Lord’s Day, I encourage you to watch the service online. Speaking of 2021, we are looking forward to getting the year started off in a great way. Our Associate Pastor Seth Powell has selected an outstanding curriculum for Sunday School in January called, “Life on Mission.” I will begin a new sermon series from the book of Acts on January 10 called, “Church on Fire.” We will be starting back up our regular Wednesday night program (excluding supper) on January 13. Be looking for details on all of these plans for the New Year. May God bless each and every one of you as we wind down this crazy year of 2020 and look forward to better days in 2021!
You are loved,
Dr. Ken
