RASASC
MONTHLY NEWSLETTER - DECEMBER 2020
What a year it has been. Who would have thought as we prepared for Christmas 2019, we would be in the middle of a pandemic by this one?

This year has shown how we can adapt the way services are provided, ensuring survivors continue to be supported in the best possible way. This year has also taken its toll on everyone here, in the wider society, and in the world. We end 2020 in hope for a brighter 2021.

I would like to offer thanks to all of RASASC's workers and volunteers, to our partners and supporters and to all survivors who have had to adapt with us to new ways of doing things this year. I hope everyone will have a well-earned rest over the festive period.

RASASC's Ten Feminist Moments of 2020
At the beginning of 2020, none of us could have predicted what was to come. The past year has made visible the vast social and economic inequalities that exist in our communities and societies, including the violence and abuse that is targeted at women and girls.

In this moving vigil and powerful call to action from Million Women Rise, we're reminded that whilst "2020 has been a year of pain and violence; let's not forget that it has been another year of our resistance too".

We support call for UK Government to ratify the Istanbul Convention
For 16 days of action to end violence against women, we were proud to feature as one of the 16 key organisations that the IC Change campaign showcased as part of a series called '16 days, 16 changes'.

The series shone a spotlight on the important and lifesaving work taking place across the UK to address violence against women - and the need to protect and strengthen this through the ratification of the Istanbul Convention.
