ISAPP Newsletter – December 19, 2020
We’re pleased to announce that ISAPP is now on Instagram! Check out our new account @ISAPPscience – where we share images and information on the topics of probiotics and prebiotics, tailored for dietitians and the general public.
In our final newsletter of 2020, you’ll find a report and press release on a newly published ISAPP-led paper about the evidence linking live dietary microbes and health. A guest blog post describes a new regulatory decision in Spain related to the use of the term "probiotic" on food labels. Also, ISAPP board member Prof. Bob Hutkins contributes a blog post on why a product called “ambient yogurt” is becoming wildly popular in China.
Below you’ll read about a new collaboration between ISAPP and the NEC Society to create resources about probiotics for parents whose children are at risk of necrotizing enterocolitis. And this month’s highlighted ISAPP resource is a video that focuses on the health benefits of probiotics.
From the entire ISAPP board of directors, we wish you a very safe and happy holiday season. We look forward to sharing more exciting ISAPP initiatives in 2021!
