You’re probably aware that, for the second year in a row, Holy Cross School was voted the Readers’ Choice Best Private School in Michiana. This is a wonderful tribute to the faculty, staff and administration of our school who work so diligently to provide a quality education to our children as well as to our school parents, parishioners and community partners who support the efforts of our school. It is so fitting that Angie Budzinski’s retirement as principal was capped by this honor and that Annie Borjas’ first year as our new principal begins with the same vote of confidence by the Michiana community.
During this Thanksgiving season, I am so grateful for these two women, for their vision for the school’s future, their professionalism in administrating the school, their trust in God’s hand in our school’s well-being, and their pastoral sensitivity and approach to our students, faculty, parents and issues that face the school. I am also thankful for the level of commitment and dedication that our faculty and staff have exhibited during this time. Teachers have spent many additional hours offering virtual lessons to students taking classes at home while also teaching their regular classes inside the school building. Our faculty members are going the extra mile to offer all our onsite and virtual learners the best educational experience possible during this exceptional time. We hope to be able to continue onsite classes for as long as local government considers it safe to do so.
Parishioners who attended Holy Cross School decades or just years ago can be proud of their alma mater. All parishioners can be proud of the important community outreach that our school provides to our neighborhood, our city and our diocese. Thank you for your support of our school.
