Unlocking community-based flexibility to transform the energy system
Webinar recap
Webinar - Unlocking community-based flexibility to transform the energy system
On 20th of November, REScoop VPP, together with the FLEXcoop project and the cVPP project organised a webinar sharing insights and stories from energy communities that are trying to capture the benefits of a citizen-centred approach to manage decentralised energy resources.

During the 2 hours long webinar, we clarified some new concepts and illustrate them with hands-on experiences from our project partners and energy communities in the field.

Cooperation Labs trigger enhanced collaboration between members and cities
REScoop.eu and Energy Cities teaming up

With support from the European Climate Foundation, REScoop.eu teamed up with Energy Cities to foster enhanced collaboration between energy cooperatives and their respective cities. Our member E+P got linked to Pamplona, Enostra got connected to Modena and Brasseurs d'Energie ("Energy Brewers") engaged with Strasbourg.

Through an e-Cooperation Lab we managed to enhance the capacities of both the energy cooperatives and the cities and we supported the further development of sustainable energy action plans with a central role for community energy and democratisation processes. These inspiring stories have been captured by Energie Cities in a podcast series.

Stay tuned because we will organise a new series of cooperation labs in 2021 for which we will reach out to our members.

The Agro Fossil Free project kick-started successfully
Farmers getting engaged in the future energy system

REScoop.eu is one of the partners in Agro Fossil Free, an H2020 project that aims to identify existing and develop new Fossil Free Strategies and Technologies in the agricultural sector. The publication of the Clean Energy for All European legislative package provides equal opportunities for citizens, local authorities and SMEs, including farmers. The definitions for energy communities allows farmers to actively engage in the future energy system and produce, consume, store or sell energy from renewable sources.

REScoop.eu will bring this perspective to the project and work on a strategy to bring the concept of energy communities to rural areas and farmers. Sign up for Agro Fossil Free on Twitter if you want to follow this interesting project.
