The White House unveiled its own proposal, which would decrease unemployment benefits and send direct tax rebate checks. The proposal works off a $908 billion framework unveiled by a bipartisan group of lawmakers, who have been working to negotiate on language for liability protections for businesses.  Check out Poligon’s COVID-19 Policy Update Center for more details.

— Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

"The American people are suffering, and their leaders continue to ignore their plight. The American people are crying out for direct relief in the form of stimulus checks."
