Food banks are facing a loss in food supply - and you can take action!

This week, Northern Illinois Food Bank's Advocacy Team has been meeting with our Members of Congress to talk about how we can work together to solve hunger. However, there is one big issue that food banks across the country are facing, and we need your help.

Fifty percent - 50% - of the food we receive from the USDA is going to run out at the end of the year. That means, as this pandemic continues, and as one in nine people in our service area face hunger, our food banks are going to have less food to feed our neighbors in need as the new year begins.

Northern Illinois Food Bank is going to continue to be here for our community, especially during this challenging time. However, a loss in food supply is going to pose another challenge - one that food banks should not have to face when hunger is impacting so many of our neighbors.
You Can Take Action

We've told our Members of Congress about this issue, and now it is your turn. You can help make sure food banks don't lose their food supply by urging your Members of Congress to take action.

If you know someone else who would like to become a Hunger Advocate, please feel free to forward this email or encourage them to subscribe to our alerts. Thank you for being a Hunger Advocate. Together we can solve hunger!
