Greetings Music Collectors
It’s December 11 (2Nd night of Hanukah and 2 weeks ‘til Christmas!), and we are still chuggin’ along against the odds in this crazy world during weirdest of weird times. In fact we’ve been so preoccupied with new release sourcing and today finally rolling out the wildly anticipated STURGILL SIMPSON, amidst simultaneously making headway on curating, pricing and stocking the over 4000 vintage and pre-loved records we acquired last month, I almost forgot, Horizon Records rings up another anniversary; about December 1ST, 1975 a massively naïve and starry eyed Gene Berger opened Horizon Records; long ago and far away, in another universe it seems like. Just so grateful 45 years later to still be lucky enough to live daily amongst music and music artifacts known as records and CDs. Thanks to all our customers past and present (and all our staffers past and current) who have made this unlikely dream possible. I have no victory laps to trot, just more used CDs to dig through, LPs to research, no innovative or dogmatic words of wisdom, except simply PLEASE STAY SAFE, enjoy music, and come see us when you can.

Now Simpson returns to the music of his native Kentucky with his first bluegrass project, Cuttin’ Grass - Vol. 1 (The Butcher Shoppe Sessions). A true "mixtape for the fans", as Sturgill calls it, sees him reimagining songs from across his catalogue backed by some of Nashville's finest acoustic virtuosos.
