Global Nutrition Cluster
Issue 25 | December 11, 2020
Dear all,

The Global Nutrition Cluster Technical Alliance was officially launched on the 2nd of December, with over 300 participants attending the launch event online. The launch was an opportunity to highlight the ambition, objectives and activities of the GNC Technical Alliance. A recording of the event is now available on this link.

This past week the GNC and the SUN Movement conducted three regional webinars on the opportunities and challenges for strengthening the humanitarian-development nexus for nutrition. The webinar recordings and associated policy briefs can be found on this link. This week also saw the launch of a new partnership between the GNC and RedR UK to work on the development of content for the new GNC digital learning platform. The GNC will make new modules and training materials available online in the coming months.

The GNC is also pleased to share the updated Operational Support Dashboard, reflecting the latest operational support activities carried out by the GNC-CT in November 2020.

Infant & Young Child Feeding in Emergencies Individual Capacity Assessment Tool | Assessment of available capacities to provide context-specific orientation/training on IYCF-E is one of the six practical steps set out in the Operational Guidance on Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies. Developed by Save the Children and Tech RRT, with support of members of the IFE Core Group, this capacity assessment tool can be used before an emergency (in the preparedness phase) as well as during an emergency. This tool is developed to help organisations understand what individual technical capacity exists and what types of capacity development activities are needed to provide high-quality IYCF services during emergencies

The COVID-19 Maternal, Child Health & Nutrition repository has been updated with 127 new publications. The repository can be accessed here.
