Stewardship Nugget: Managing Our Time, Talents and Treasures

Ever wonder how God wants you to use the time, talents and treasures He’s given you?

In a new video, Iowa-Missouri Conference stewardship director Scott Haakenson explores that question. It’s part of a series called “Stewardship Nuggets.” Other videos in the series cover topics like current giving opportunities in our conference; what happens to your tithes and offerings after you give; and experiencing God through stewardship.

Karole Smith Baptized at Kahoka Church

Karole Smith was recently baptized at the Kahoka church. Her journey with Christ began in the Methodist Church 20 years ago. Then, while attending a nephew’s graduation party six years ago, Karole’s sister and brother-in-law introduced her to several people involved with 3ABN. She began watching programs on the network and studying the Bible with Terry Shelton and Terry Marshall.

Later, Karole was contacted by Joe Arellano, who was then the pastor of the Burlington, Fort Madison and Kahoka churches. She began attending Sabbath services in Fort Madison and mid-week Bible studies in Kahoka. Karole also occasionally attended the Adventist church in Quincy, Illinois, where she formed a friendship with Pastor Tim Rosenboom, who further encouraged Karole in her discipleship journey.

Karole went on to attend a prophecy seminar with Pastor David Kleindinst, and even before her baptism she has been actively involved in helping organize another prophecy seminar, a cooking class, and a nursing home ministry. “If anyone says Jesus doesn’t have a plan for you, they are mistaken,” Karole says. “The Holy Spirit guides you, but you have to be listening.”

It’s been a long journey, but we are all so happy and excited that Karole has made the decision to follow Jesus all the way into baptism and working with the Kahoka church.
