The City of Lowell is hosting a virtual community information session on the upcoming election system change and the proposed district map, released in November, 2020. The event is intended to provide information on process by which the proposed districts were drawn and to allow members of the community to offer input on the map prior to it being finalized. The session will feature the City of Lowell’s voting rights expert, Dr. Nathaniel Persily, who has facilitated the districting process on behalf of the City.
The event will take place in three languages over the course of three separate one-hour sessions scheduled at the following times:
English, 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Spanish, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Khmer, 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
All sessions will take place via Zoom. Information on how to join will be posted prior to the event at: lowellma.gov/districting-info-session. The event will also be broadcast on channel 99 by LTC.
