Kids' Movie Club, 12/11: "Big Hero Six"

Hey, parents!
Just an email to let y'all know that this Saturday (12/12, from 1-2PM), we will be taking a look at, and discussing, the movie "Big Hero 6" (via Zoom!), and how it relates to the Gospel and its teachings! Any kids in K-5th are more than welcome to come join in on the fun! As always, we'll start by discussing our weeks, followed by a fun game or two, before jumping into the discussion of the movie.

I was looking at doing the newest Grinch movie, like we talked about on Saturday, but they actually just took it off of Netflix this week! So, I hope no one minds the switch up. Still another wonderful film!

If anyone needs any help finding the movie, just let me know! It's on Disney+ !

Here's the link to the meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3916487744?pwd=ZjVlNWdmdUZSWG5YTnkzK0FOZVFzZz09

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to shoot me an email!

I hope everyone is having an awesome week!

Virtual Christmas Pageant

We are excited to be putting together a virtual Christmas Pageant for this year, and we need YOUR help!  The Pageant will be for all ages, representing the whole church.

The process should be fairly simple.  We have a script that we'll send out, each person will record a video of their scene and send it back to Tyler, and then we'll put it all together into one video.
Think of it as each of us designing a puzzle piece that then will be assembled into a giant picture!

We need at least 18 people to help us out!  The goal is to have the pageant ready for Christmas eve, but the sooner we get started the better!

If you are willing to help out with the pageant (again, this is for ALL ages)
please click here to let Tyler know.

Once we have enough volunteers, we'll start sending out instructions on how to film your videos.

2020 Advent Devotionals
Advent begins this Sunday, November 29.  It is a season that marks four weeks leading up to Christmas day (and the 12 day season of Christmas, which lasts from December 25th to January 6th).

We are happy to be able to provide two devotional opportunities for you this Advent season!  The first is a weekly devotional for all ages, and the second is specifically tailored for families to do together (with opportunities for creative crafts).

Click here to download the All Ages Weekly Advent Devotional.

Click here to download the Family Weekly Advent Devotional.

In addition, if you are looking for a daily option, Tyler recommends the book
Honest Advent: Awakening to the Wonder of God-with-Us Then, Here, and Now
by Scott Ericson

The book gives you 25 reflections that ask us to reflect on the notion that the Christmas story is not just something that happened a long time ago . . . but a story that is still happening today.
You can purchase a copy of this book here.
Tyler will be reading through this book through the season, too!

Welcome baby Amylia!

Prayers of thanks that Diane Kriznik Senkoski and Matt Senkoski were notified this week that they can proceed with adoption of the infant girl who came to their house on 10/30/20.
We are so thankful to welcome her officially.
Her name is Amylia (pronounced Amelia) Nadima (birth mom gave her this name; means friend/confidant)
and her birthdate was 10/26/20.
Grandmother Sue Kriznik is so in love with her.
Thank-you in particular for all of the prayers surrounding Matt and Diane as they got to this point❤️
God is good;
All the time, God is good!

Deacons' Fall Food Drive

Thanks to all who donated to the Deacons' Fall Food Drive!

Even with the church building closed, we were able to collect two SUV's full of food to donate!

Announcing a new way to share some love - a sock drive!

Northside Common Ministries has asked for help for the Allegheny County Jail Discharge Center.

They need WHITE, ANKLE (or LOWER) length socks for men being released over the next few months.

There are several options to help

You can:
1. Drop them at WCPC (donation bin located next to the side door of the fellowship hall)
2. Call or email someone on the WCPC Mission committee to pick them up from you
3. Drop them off at Northside Common Ministries
4. Have them delivered right to Northside Common Ministries (Amazon is a great option!)

Ways to Support the Ministry of WCPC

Financial Contributions - Welcome to Columbus United Methodist Church

In this time of social distancing, WCPC continues to minister to the congregation and surrounding community in ways that are new and different.

We are committed to continuing to support our church staff financially during this time not only to allow uninterrupted ministry, but also to better position them to be ready to resume in-person worship services and programs as soon as it is safe and appropriate. The ongoing financial support of the members and friends of this congregation is vital to sustaining this ministry and providing care not only now, but also in the future.  Please help us to keep this ministry alive and vibrant!

You can set the amount & frequency, designate to specific funds (General Fund, Fan the Flame, Missions), and use credit/debit card or PayPal. Online donations are automatically included in your giving statement.
[CLICK THE BLUE BUTTON BELOW TO GIVE ONLINE]

If you prefer to give through checks rather than online, checks can still be mailed to the church office (10645 Perry Hwy, Wexford, PA, 15090) as we still have folks checking the mail and making deposits each week.

Thank you so much for your continued partnership and support of what God is doing through WCPC

Give online to WCPC

AmazonSmile supports WCPC!  AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.  So when you want to buy through Amazon, log in to Smile.Amazon.com with your usual Amazon ID and password, then search for and select Wexford Community Presbyterian Church.  It’s that easy!  AND you can purchase Amazon Gift Cards from the Vision Fund. So go ahead and support WCPC when you shop!
