OTHER NEWS

6. SADPD PETITION

The petition to “withdraw the modified SADPD” was rejected by Woking Borough Council due to concern about “unacceptable delay” & “potential loss of control .. to manage developments in the Borough”. The Council also noted that since the adoption of the Core Plan in 2012 there have been a number of public consultations, including the current one which closes on 14th December 2020.

The petitioners also expressed concern about a possible exit onto Pyrford Road. The Current Main Modification SADPD makes it clear that the West Hall Site is likely to include “access from Parvis Road…  and secondary access from the drive to West Hall for emergency purposes.” A footpath is  suggested  from the site to join “Dodd’s Lane footpath adjacent to the southern boundary”.

The Council did pass a motion “for a joint study with other authorities and partners on the future infrastructure requirements of the East of Woking, based on both current demand and future demand”. The motion requested feedback at the next meeting of the Executive on 14 January 2021.

Pyrford Forum supports the view of Woking Borough Council that the SADPD process should be completed as quickly as possible, as there have already been a number of public consultations over the last 5 years. If possible, the Forum will be willing to input to and or comment on the joint study.

7. SHEER HOUSE LATEST
The latest planning application was approved on 8th December.

This did not significantly change the size, height or mass of the previous plans, but did change the mix of space.  The Community Use space was increased, but the retail element was reduced.  The new plans include facilities for RVG residents, which should be accessible to the public. The applicant has produced an illustrative plan of these facilities which can be found on the forum website at  https://pyrfordforum.org/

Full details of the approved planning application can be found at  https://caps.woking.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=QGRB44RUIVH00

The next RVG online public meeting is on Wednesday 16th December from 6-7pm. The sign-up link is here https://bit.ly/3fqnWJp

8. WILD PYRFORD DECEMBER PREVIEW
The December edition is out on You Tube which includes, why digging out ditches is so important, the West Byfleet Community Garden Club and to conclude some humorous outtakes. A preview can be found at https://pyrfordforum.org/

9. WEST BYFLEET LIBRARY ADDITIONAL HOURS
The library has extended its opening hours on Friday afternoon to 5pm, but is still remains a “click & collect” service only.

That's all for now, so stay safe and well everyone and the Forum Committee wishes you all Season's Greetings.
