Today's trust tip: Holiday wishes and January training

Hi there. Joy here.

Journalists, the end of 2020 is upon us. You have our team's sincere appreciation for what you've done for your communities — and for democracy — during this very strange time.

We're ending the year with a renewed fervor to rebuild trust between journalists and the people they aim to serve. Our goals for 2021 are ambitious ones, but they'll have to wait a bit as we take a holiday break (and a giant exhale).

We do, however, want to make sure you know about our next Trust 101 course, coming up soon. If you're in the mood to map out some 2021 goals and plans, apply by Jan. 4.

This class is 100% remote and is facilitated through live video classes, video recordings, a Slack workspace and a few assignments. Give us a few hours a week for a month, and we’ll coach you while you craft a plan for your own work. (You’re welcome to apply along with colleagues. We’re happy to admit teams if space permits.)

Read more and apply here. Here's what two recent training participants had to say:
We know newsrooms don't get to shut down, but we hope each of you finds time for an exhale over the holidays. Trust Tips will return in January.

I'm not typically crafty, but I do have a holiday embroidery project awaiting me, thanks to journalist Hannah Wise's Etsy store. It's important, after all, to keep a sense of humor about what we do.
