Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens. Focusing on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Awareness of our "outter" life.

Meditation is a an intentional practice where an individual uses a technique and set period of time – focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Awareness of our "inner" life.

MERGING THE TWO PRACTICES
Combining the informal, wakeful awareness of daily mindfulness with a formal meditation practice is a potent stress management tool. Each practice enhances the effectiveness of the other. Practicing mindfulness and meditation goes hand in hand with creating a happy life.

Mindfulness and meditation are mirror-like reflections of each other: mindfulness supports and enriches meditation, while meditation nurtures and expands mindfulness. Where mindfulness can be applied to any situation throughout the day, meditation is usually practiced for a specific amount of time.
Mindfulness is the awareness of “something,” (Focusing on the present) while meditation is the awareness of “nothing” (Silencing the mind.)

Mindfulness meditation is more than about just good feelings, it can also be about feelings of anger, anxiety or sadness etc. Ultimately, it's is an increased capacity to sit with the full spectrum of being human, experiencing it all — the good, the bad — and learning to be less reactive, and more compassionate, passionate and positive so that we can better ourselves and make better choices each day.

Mindfulness/ meditation is positively associated with psychological health, and that training in mindfulness or meditation may bring about positive psychological effects. These effects ranged from increased subjective well-being, reduced psychological symptoms and emotional reactivity, to improved regulation of behaviour. Mindfulness Meditation moves us further toward the goals of alleviating psychological struggles and helping find inner peace, and live a life that is happier and more fulfilling!
