This year, I had the great fortune of becoming a first time mother to our wonderful 11-month-old daughter Vedanta. Her name has many complex meanings and is rooted in Sanskrit (an ancient Indian language like Latin). The direct and simple translation is "veda" meaning knowledge and "antha" meaning the end. So in literal translation it means "end of knowledge". In other words, it also means the "beginning of wisdom". As aptly penned in one of my all-time favourite books Siddhartha by Herman Hesse "Knowledge can be communicated and transferred but not wisdom" (paraphrasing).

I don't know, what your feelings are about 2020 but mine has been about untransferable wisdom. Such wisdom comes at a price though - it is never served on a silver platter but rather buried under a pile of hard concrete and smelly garbage. You plough through until your nails bleed and your knees are scathed - exhausted almost ready to give up, you stare into the abyss. BAAM! Just like that you hear a crack. As Leonard Cohen wonderfully put it “There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in”. Metaphorically speaking, my nails have bleed and my back hurt from all the digging but you know what - I saw the light. I see the light. One of the greatest wisdoms of 2020 for me has been to LET GO. Not always the easiest thing to do but the more I did, the more light I saw, the stronger and better I felt.  

So in a monumental year of uncertainties and a new-kind-of-awakening, I am graced with this deep wisdom. I (was) am so inspired by this that I wanted to share it with the world. So in my own artistic pursuit I created the LET GO. collection. A gentle reminder to me and all of us that sometimes greater things can be envisioned and created by - simply LETTING GO.
